About The Coptic Advent fast
The Coptic Orthodox Church keeps a fast of 43 days from about 25 November until Christmas, with the Feast of the Nativity on 7 January. Weddings are not held in it, nor in the other fasts of the year, so Coptic couples hold their weddings between the fasts, in summer and in the months after Epiphany. Wednesday and Friday are also fast days in the church.
