Also: Georgian feast, supra table
A supra is a Georgian feast, a long table of dishes such as khachapuri, mtsvadi, pkhali and badrijani, with wine, at which toasts follow a set order. At a wedding the supra can last many hours, and is run by a tamada, with songs, polyphonic singing and dancing. Toasts are drunk to the couple, parents, ancestors, friends and the absent. The supra has deep roots in Georgian life, and the wedding is one of the occasions where it is seen at its fullest.
