About Aadi month
Aadi is a month of the monsoon in the Tamil calendar, and it is given to the worship of the goddess Amman, with festivals and the Aadi Perukku river festival. Many Tamil families do not marry in it, and the newly married wife is traditionally sent to her parents' home for the month. Weddings are therefore fewer in July and early August, and more in the months of Aavani and Thai.
