About Mehr, the Persian autumn of weddings

Mehr is the seventh month of the Persian calendar, beginning on about 23 September, and its name means love and friendship, so many Iranian couples choose it. The weather is mild, the harvest is done and the Safar and Muharram months, which families avoid, fall at other points of the year. Weddings are also frequent around Nowruz, in Farvardin, though the New Year holidays are busy. A Persian wedding includes the sofreh aghd, the spread for the ceremony, and a feast.
