About Dhanu Kharmas
Kharmas, or Malmas, is the month when the sun is in Sagittarius, from about 16 December to 14 January, and it is held to be a time not for beginnings. Weddings are not fixed in most of north and central India, and the season of Dev Uthani closes. It ends with Makar Sankranti, after which dates are plentiful. The sun enters the sign on a slightly different day each year, so the dates are approximate.
