Also: aibaro bhat, aiburo bhat, ayeburobhat
Aiburo bhaat, literally unmarried rice, is a feast held in Bengal a day or two before the wedding, at which the bride and groom, each in their own homes, are fed their favourite dishes by relatives for the last time as single people. Fish and sweets are served, and family members feed the couple with their own hands. Aiburo is related to a word for unmarried, and the spelling varies: aiburo bhaat, aibaro bhat and others. Neighbours and elders are often invited to the meal.
