Danish weddings known for kissing games, songs, a cut-up sock or tie and a speech-heavy dinner.
Also: dansk bryllup
At a Danish wedding the dinner is long and full of speeches and songs, the lyrics of which are printed in a booklet by friends and family. A custom reported in Denmark is that when the groom leaves the room, the male guests may kiss the bride, and when the bride leaves, the female guests may kiss the groom, and the couple may be stopped at the door of the church for a rope held by children. Some customs reported, such as cutting the groom's socks or tie, vary by group and by family. The night ends with a late meal.
